Nov. 4th, 2004 08:57 amThings that make me happy this morning:
1) Jamie is doing things-that-make-me-happy posts now, too.
2) Camping is tomorrow and I will learn to crochet.
3) By 12:30, I will have taken my second-to-last test of the semester, exams not included.
4) When I came up the stairs this morning, my husband was waiting at the top with his arms outstretched to hug me.
5) Olga at work makes me happy. She is Colombian and the only one there who can really speak Spanish. I practice with her, and I can understand everything she says, but I have a horrible time replying. I should go back to Guatemala! Funny story:
Ross is checking in these folks who don't speak any English, so he runs back to the switchboard to get Olga. "Olga! Spanish! Olga! Spanish now!" So Olga gets up to go help him, greets the customers, listens a moment, and turns to Ross. Imagine a thick South American accent. "Ross, they are speaking Russian." I love Olga. She is probably about 30-35. She told me yesterday in Spanish so the others wouldn't understand her, "Pienso que tu eres muy bien educada y me gusta trabajar contigo." Basically it translates to "I think you are very well-educated and I enjoy working with you." :)
Well, time to trot off to school and think about this test I have coming up. I don't *need* to do well, which is a good thing because I don't particularly expect to...I'll be happy with a B+ on this one. I don't know if an A is in me this time around.
Peace.
