(no subject)

Yesterday was our last day of class, and my finals begin tomorrow at 8am, with one on Saturday at 10:30 and Monday at 1:30. I'm really chill about all of them. Before I left Abshire's class yesterday, I asked him what my grade was on the presentation. He gave me a B+, which is lower than I expected but higher than I deserved. I mean, the presentation was good, but I know I didn't work nearly as hard as anyone who wrote a paper. Anyway, as I'm leaving his class he goes, "You have a D in the class right now." What what what? "That's if you don't take the final and I give you a 0 for participation. You're the only one who's passing the class without those grades." Whew. Nice. And I know I'll get an A for participation because I'm THE one he can count on to answer all his questions. I know, I'm that kid. But I can't stand to just sit there in silence when I KNOW the answer! And others know the answer too but they're a bunch of shy morons. You can't even ask someone if they'd like fries with that if you're so afraid to talk to people, so how do you expect to get a job after college if you've never opened your damn mouth?

I still have those two papers to write. I'll have to go to Bridgewater sometime this afternoon and make some copies of the good sources, then work on them at work I suppose. Blech. I probably won't finish them until the weekend. But at least I don't have class anymore.

Just one more class and I'm officially done with college. For now, anyway. It won't be long before I'm back in class at some grad school somewhere. But for now, finito.

I'm trying not to be stressed right now. Listening to a lot of Dar Williams and Ani DiFranco, with some others mixed in. It's a healthy listening pattern.

This is a letter I sent to a friend of mine who asked for my musical suggestions. She didn't know what she was asking! Anyway, I felt like I wrote a good letter and everyone should read it. Hey Christina,
I know I gave you a long list and maybe you've already
lost it, but after all of our class discussions, and
listening to the music on the way home, I've just
noticed how entirely relevant it all is. I should be
writing a paper right now, but I don't have time to go
to the library before work, so I am going to send you
a very long email instead, and you can give it some
thought when exams are all over.
