Nov. 30th, 2005 09:33 pmI'm feeling gradually better and better. I woke up again with a bad sore throat, but with the exception of one unrelated-to-my-cold incident, I slept through the night, and slept well (with special thanks to said incident). I would not allow myself to miss yoga tonight, so I resolved to leave work right at 5 to give myself plenty of time to eat, digest, dress, and drive to yoga by 7. I ended up staying at work until 5:30, which was no big problem. Instead of a full dinner before class, I had a granola bar and a tangerine, and I was fine. Well, I wasn't totally fine, but that had to do with my cold and not my diet. My flexibility is decidedly improved, but my strength was down a few notches tonight, so the workout was more challenging than usual. I was able to do most of the asanas without any modification, though I did shake a good deal on some of the side planks. I thought we'd never come out of some of the warrior stances, but I stuck with it and made it through the workout without having to stop at all. Yay:)
I talked to Jer on my way home and he told me that he was staying at work an extra four hours (he'd picked up a 3-7 shift, but offered to stay to 11 so someone else could go home). If he were here now, I'd probably be snuggling and relaxing somewhere warm, but since the whole 8 hour shift is pure OT, I'll come to terms with the lack of cuddling. I'm at 3 hours of OT for the week, and will probably pick up two more by Friday, plus I'm working a bridge tournament in Charlottesville this weekend, so I'll have some extra cash, too. It's all going toward the couch, though:) And rent money (theoretically) comes tomorrow, too...that couch is so mine. I don't know when we'll actually get it, but I'm really excited that I can afford it:)
Yoga really helped me feel better. That, and the news that Jer would be pulling in lots of extra cash this week. I'm going to go snuggle with Jane Austen now and see if I can't make some progress in Pride and Prejudice. I'm on Chapter 19 now, and so far, I really love it. But it's like 97 chapters long (that's a total guess, probably more like 50-60 of them), so I've got a bit more to read before I'll be purchasing movie tickets (which I will).
Peace.
