I've earned a good day
Jun. 2nd, 2006 11:18 amI actually mean it this time when I say things are really looking up.
I came into work today prepared for suckage, as I had to send two marketing emails. Let's put it this way - if I were to be tested on my knowledge of the process, even after my training yesterday, I would've failed miserably. That shit is complicated. I had to send four tests before I got it right, but the miracle of it all is that I did get it right. At least as far as anyone here can tell, I did, and that's good enough for me. So the stressful part of my day is behind me now, and I am pleased with myself.
I'm wearing an outfit that I love, but I'm pretty confident that were I famous, it would land me on gofugyourself.com. But I don't care. I couldn't have pulled this outfit off a month ago, and regardless of what Joan and Melissa would say, I feel hot in it, so, whatever, man.
Last night was productive - I contacted the folks that
flamingophoenix set me up with, agreed that we could be agreeable, checked out their house, and arranged for Jeremy and myself to move in. So the Great Housing Debacle of 2006 has finally been laid to rest. Well, for the most part. We won't get into buying and selling issues at this point. I'm trying to chill about that. SO DON'T FUCKING ASK ME IF MY HOUSE IS SOLD YET, BECAUSE BELIEVE ME, YOU'LL KNOW WHEN IT HAPPENS, AND EVERY TIME SOMEONE ASKS ME, IT MAKES ME WANT TO TYPE IN ALL CAPS AND I HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE DO THAT SO UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE YELLED AT INTERNET-STYLE, MIND YOUR OWN GODDAMN BUSINESS. I guess that's just a remnant of the shitty week I've had. My apologies for being such an ass all of a sudden. But really, folks, do I not share enough personal details in here?
But my point was that I'm excited about moving into this place, and major props to Emily for giving me yet another sweet hookup - first the job, now the apartment. I'm gonna have to give her my first born or something.
Reminder: GIRLYMAN at 8pm tonight at the Gravity Lounge in Charlottesville. $15 adv/$20 door. It's worth every penny and more. Doors at 7, I do believe. Find me in the front row.
Oh, and since I apparently wasn't clear before - Saturday's show is not in Charlottesville. I'm following the band to Herndon for Herndon Fest, where I'll also see my Edhead friends and a couple other performances of interest. But if you want to come to that, as of right now I'm driving by myself and would really love company. I'll pay for everything - I think tickets are free and I'll cover all the gas and meals. We've got a place to stay. Let me know. I'm staying through Sunday afternoon for the Mike and Robbie sets.
Peace.
