Aug. 6th, 2006 07:39 amMy mom actually did take me out to get my nails done yesterday, so today they're in the state of soreness that they always go into after a day of sanding, cutting, and gluing. But they look great and should be fully functional in a few more hours, when my fingers stop hurting. Why do chicks do this to themselves? Manicures hurt. Shit, even brushing my hair hurts sometimes. My grandmother used to always say to me, "My grandmother always said, one must bear pain to be beautiful." I guess if I ever have grandchildren, I can drop the first "my grandmother always said" part. Or I could say "my great-great grandmother always said," but then they'd know just how antiquated an idea it is and know it's bunk. Because it is. I don't think I'm any more beautiful with these nails than I was with the bitten-off ones I had before...I just like the clicky noises I can make with these:)
When Jer wakes up, we're going over to Massanutten to do some work. (Do NOT ask how it's going. I'll tell you IF I feel like talking about it, which, usually, I don't.) Anyway. I should get him up soon if he doesn't rouse himself shortly. We're having lunch with the Vogens at Romano's, too. That place has become the Colleen of Rockingham County. Colleen is this little ice cream joint by the side of the road in Nelson County, and it's like Massie cars cannot drive past it without stopping. That's how Romano's is. If you're going to be in Rockingham County, you better fucking stop at Romano's!
Maybe there's some bridge to be played this morning...
Peace.
