Sep. 9th, 2006 09:54 amEmily just called to say she's on her way over to pick me up for thrift storing today. Yesterday was payday, and I went ahead and paid off all my bills for the month so that I'd know I wouldn't have any other expenses coming up this month besides the daily stuff. I can't wait until my house is sold and I can stop living paycheck to paycheck. I feel like I've paid my dues to that lifestyle. I'm ready for my middle-class debut...so I'm going to shop for my middle-class duds at some middle-class second-hand shops:) Heh.
Again I didn't sleep last night, but I'm not cranky about it today. After all, it's Saturday, and I don't have any obligations this weekend except to feed the cat, so I won't be dragging ass. Oooh I wonder if anyone wants to play bridge with me tomorrow. I forgot to ask my mom if anyone was looking for a partner and she's out of town now. Oh well. It won't kill me to sit this one out.
Ha! The phone just rang, and it was a lady looking for a bridge partner! My mom is usually in charge of partnerships, so we get lots of calls here. I told her I'd play. Funny how that worked out...just as I was typing the words:) I've never played with this lady before, but I've known her and played against her for as long as I can remember, so we should do alright together. She's not one of the strongest players in the group, but then again, neither are the people I've been playing with, and we've done okay. I wish I wasn't so competitive, though. I should lighten up about the game - it is a game, after all - but it can't be done. I just hope I'm never rude to my partners. Lord knows I fuck up plenty on my own, too.
Well it's about time to hit the town with Emily, so I'm out of here for now.
Go Eagles!
Peace.
