Sep. 11th, 2011 08:36 amMy job is pretty insane. The actual work part of it is routine and uneventful, but the hours are so long that I have very little time to live life outside of the job. I've enjoyed working with the folks I've been working with, and don't mind the long hours, because they translate to fat paychecks, and the job is pretty chill, all things considered. I just have so little time to do anything, so that's why I've been largely MIA.
I'm home in Portland for the weekend, and not sure when I'm taking off again. Next week's travel wasn't finalized as of Friday, so if I am traveling, I'll probably find out tomorrow. This is fairly typical as far as advanced notice goes. It would be swell to go someplace I've never been before. So far I've just gone back and forth between California and Virginia. It's not like I have time for much sightseeing anyway, but I'd like to go to new places just to say I've been there, if nothing else :)
The apartment is a mess, and I'm going to make a real effort to do something about that today. I cleaned the toilets yesterday! And while that was a major effort, it unfortunately did nothing to alleviate the clutter problem we have. I just haven't felt like folding laundry in about a year, and it's kind of piling up all over the place. I guess I should just get on with it now.
