Jan. 3rd, 2013 02:16 pmI should go into business buying people's plane tickets for them. Not as a travel agent. Just as someone who buys your tickets for you, because I'm so awesome at it. People would search for tickets and tell me the best price they can find. Then I find a better price, and they pay me half the difference. If I had asked as much of my old employer, I'd be retired by now. And I just helped my coworker find tickets to Europe for this summer for like $7000 less than she was going to spend (on a family of four).
I accidentally left my gym bag at home today, so I couldn't work out in the office gym at lunch like I usually do. I definitely need to work out today, since I'm traveling this weekend and won't be getting a lot of exercise, so that means I get to go to the gym after work. The evening is already a busy time there, but factor in the resolutionites, and it's going to suuuck. I'm not pleased with myself for forgetting my gear today.
I fly to Raleigh tomorrow for my cousin's wedding. Lots of family will be there, and I'm excited to see them all. Lucy and Frankie are coming with WT, but Rachel and Bess are staying in Brooklyn, so I'll have to catch up with them some other time. It'll be a fun weekend, but a tiring one. Luckily I have some buffer time before I have to be back at work, so I can take it easy at home for a couple of days, minus workouts and cleaning.
Work was really slow yesterday, so I went home early since Michele and I were both here. I used that time to do some cleaning and organizing, and actually spent quite a while working on it all. The sad thing is that the house is still a giant mess. But some small spaces are better organized! A friend is coming down from Seattle to play the Portland sectional at the end of the month with me, so I need to have the guest room visitor-ready by then. It's totally doable, I've just been lazy about it. But having that as a deadline will ensure that I get it taken care of. So that's good :)
