Oct. 7th, 2014 10:35 amLast night I kept having these weird dream-within-a-dream things where I would dream that it was Friday and I was all happy about that, only to have a coworker burst my bubble and tell me later that it was really only Thursday, and then I'd be super deflated. But then I'd realize oh yeah it was only a dream and it IS actually Friday. Except...no. It's Tuesday. I feel like this cycle repeated itself several times last night. Rather frustrating. At least it's Tuesday in a week where Wednesday is my Friday...sorta. I'll do real estate work the rest of the "weekend," but that's more or less on my schedule. But the point is the fact that today is only Tuesday is a real kick in the pants.
Tuesdays are fun, though. I have sewing class tonight, which I've been really enjoying. It's also the first preseason game for the Blazers. I won't be able to watch it because of class, but I might have it up on my phone while I sew :) Work was busy when I first showed up, but has slowed down enough for me to enjoy a delicious avocado and take a few moments to blog, anyway.
My mom said that the police searched their property over the weekend looking for Hannah Graham. My parents do live in a heavily wooded neighborhood, but I know those woods better than I know my own house. Part of me wants to fly back to Charlottesville and take over the search. My childhood friends and I have combed every inch of woods in Albemarle County -- not that I *want* to find a body, I'm just saying I wonder if I know of places the police teams haven't even tried yet. I'm surprised there haven't been more developments in the case since they got LJ in custody, though. They've linked his DNA to Morgan Harrington and a sexual assault survivor from 2005 (thanks to her for getting a rape kit!) -- the evidence is stacked pretty strongly against him. If there have been negotiations about plea deals or anything else, it hasn't been publicized, but you'd think the cops would do anything they can to get him to lead them to Hannah. He's already implicated in at least one other murder, so it's not like denying this one (if he is guilty) will improve his circumstances. It's totally possible that he's not guilty, I guess, but with a DNA link to two other crimes, he's not innocent, either...
