Mar. 29th, 2012 10:25 pmIt's amazing how quickly a scheduled two weeks off can fill up with obligations. I'm not complaining -- they're all fun things like hanging out with people or playing at the club or whatever, so it's all good. But busy just the same.
Today I had my first session back with my trainer. He is not one to take it easy when I say I'm tired. It wasn't the hardest workout I've ever had, but it was damn close. He said he was proud of how well I did, and that he could tell I'd kept up my workouts on the road. Yay gold star for me. I'm not sore yet, but I'm sure that's coming tomorrow...
I took a nap when I got home (best part of being a freelancer, hands down, is naptime), then woke up and met Shellie at the mall for some girl time and shopping. The two of us together are a funny combination of super girly (shoe shopping! dresses! talk about boys!) and super tomboyish (we could kick anyone's ass in a sports debate). I bought some cute little accessories and one ridiculous pair of shoes that I'm so excited about, you guys, I don't care how crazy they look. (And they weren't expensive, either! Score!)

The saleswoman told me that they were really great quality shoes, too. Good, because I was totally planning on wearing these every day until they completely wear out. Heh. Seriously, they look awesome. I love them a lot, and I'm 6'5 in them. I always wanted to be 6'5. (I'm glad I'm not really that tall, but I'm also glad I'm tall enough to be that tall on the days when I feel like it.) Now I just need spring to get here to Portland. Or, no, wait, I'll just leave here in another week and go south again.
Hanging out with Shanon and Jack tomorrow -- I haven't seen them in too long! Bridge club Saturday with Chris, Sunday with the in-laws, Blazer game Monday with Shellie (it's the Jazz, you guys, I'm so excited to be in the same building as Gordon Hayward! He's basically the next Steve Finley in my life.), more abuse at the gym with Ertan on Tuesday...I'm hoping for a sunny day before I leave so that I can drag McKenzie out for a hike somewhere in the Gorge. It's so great to be back home.
