I've got an hour an a half to kill before boarding my RIC-ORD flight, so I'll do my best to recap some highlights of the past few weeks, or just this week in Williamsburg.  It was a blast, for sure.  But I'm really glad to be on my way home.  I miss Oregon and my husband and my semblance of a routine and my bike.  And my paycheck.  It will be nice to go home.

As Lucy gets older, she gets warmer and warmer toward me.  As a baby, she didn't like to be held much, and as a toddler, she and I didn't really bond as much as I wanted to.  When I got to Brooklyn on Sunday, she ran out into the hall to greet me with a jump hug, and she asked me to sit by her and hang out lots this week.  It was really sweet.  Frankie has always been warm and affectionate, and Bess looks like she may be even more so.  She's happy to be held by anyone, and all you have to do to get a big smile out of her is make eye contact.  She's just the sweetest.

On Thursday night, we all went to Busch Gardens together to ride more rides and watch the evening fireworks show.  It worked out that we were riding the swings as the fireworks were happening.  I was behind Lucy and Frankie, and watching their faces take in the wonder of it all was just the most wonderful thing.

Lucy knows how much I love being an aunt, and she said to me several times this week that I need to have kids.  She thinks I'll be a great mom.  What a lovely compliment!  But no.  I'll stick to aunting :)  She also said at one point that I looked pregnant.  "About three weeks."  Umm?  Then later that same night, she gave me a hug and said "You're SO SKINNY!"  Whatever, kid.

My 10K is in two weeks and I am nowhere near prepared.  I guess I'll have to train hard these next few days.  4 miles is still the farthest I've run, and the past two weeks of travel have not been conducive to training.  I did a few 3-mile runs, but it's so fucking hot on the east coast.  I'm hoping that it'll be easier to get up and go when I make it back home.  Will shoot for a 5-mile run tomorrow morning.  But...we'll see.

There's no such thing as looking 3 weeks pregnant. No one looks pregnant at 3 weeks!

Perhaps she thought I looked like I'd lost weight from morning sickness

Having been..... AHEM away and not really getting the exercise I'm used to I'm surprised I didn't lose too much endurance. But 20 days isn't really long enough to lose a lot of strength or endurance I guess. I love reading your entries. I want to go running right now LOL as it's77 degrees out at 11:40 pm!
