Nov. 26th, 2012 04:15 pmThanksgiving always seems to end so abruptly -- family leaves all at once and suddenly the world turns its attention to Christmas. And football's basically over, too. Whine. I've been using the last couple of quiet days to catch up on my sleeping, which I largely neglected so far on this vacation. Naps are the best.
This morning I met my friend Rick at his place downtown for a 3.5-mile run, and to catch up on each other's lives. He's a good friend and I hadn't seen him in over a year. Even though the run was hard and the weather was icky, it was great to see him, and I'm glad I got that run in. He's always pushed and inspired me.
I came home and did some delightful napping, and went for another massage at the place at the mall. I love that place, but it really is hit or miss. It's cheap and you don't need an appointment, but some therapists are way better than others. Today was...borderline abusive? She actually straddled me on the table to massage me. It was not ideal. Now that it's over, my muscles do feel nice and limber and loose, but holy god damn it was not enjoyable at the time.
I'm going out to meet Gail for one last Bodo's date tonight, then it's back to Portland tomorrow. I'll get in late, work three days, and then get on another plane for NYC this time. I can't wait to see my nieces! If you're in Brooklyn, let's get together next week :)
