It's really nice to be back in Portland. It will be even nicer when I don't have quite so much hanging over my head. Come on, September 12. My writing project is coming along just fine, and has actually gotten a little bit easier as I've gotten deeper into it, but it's still a fucking struggle and I'll be glad to have it behind me. The final deadline is two weeks from today, and while there's some leeway on the internal deadlines, that one is firm, so I'll be done in two weeks, one way or another.

I worked out with Ertan last night. He had me doing some crazy hard shit, but I handled it pretty well. The other PTs there always have a lot to say about my workouts with Ertan. I definitely have their respect, which actually makes their heckling not just bearable but encouraging. It's always nice to impress fitness professionals. Three different trainers asked me yesterday "Are you seriously flipping that tire?!" Yessir thankyouverymuch. I still feel out of shape and blobby, but the fact that I can get through such grueling workouts gives me hope that I can right this ship. I think I'll go to BodyPump tonight instead of working out on my lunch hour. It's been a while since I've been, despite my previous vow to try to make it a regular 3x/week thing. Sigh. I give myself permission to start over, though :)

I still fluctuate between overwhelmed and optimistic. Right now I'm falling on the overwhelmed side, unfortunately. Maybe knocking out a few more of these writing assignments will help. I did 3 yesterday and have 8 more to do today. I also have a huge stack of stuff in my work inbox that I should probably work on. It's just so much more fun for me to mope around LJ about all that I should be doing instead.
