Yippie Skippy, we're going camping today! And from the looks of things, it's beautiful out. But I'm an hour away from the campsite so no promises...

At work, we have tons and tons of pads of recycled paper to use for scratch paper while working the switchboard. You know, to take notes like room 347b needs a 6am wakeup call and all that jazz. I am talking TONS of these pads, because all the paper we use is one-sided, so when we're done with it, we cut it into fours, flip it to the clean side, and put sticky stuff on the end so it's a pad. Anyway I've started (as most people there do) drawing on them. I've come up with some very innovative artwork. Other things we have lots of at work are black sharpies and white out. So I've been doing these very cool white out and sharpie on scratch paper "masterpieces," as I like to call them. Very fun.

I spent a long time last night talking to Olga in Spanish. I've gotten so bad at it! But after talking for a while it was coming back to me. We were talking about accents. She said people think she is not intelligent because she has a very thick accent. It's true, people can be so judgmental. It's kind of like the way you automatically make assumptions about someone with a bad lisp or something. But anyway, I asked her if Americans speaking Spanish are difficult to understand because of their accents. She said no, but they do sound kind of stupid sometimes. I asked her about me and she said that I spoke with a very native-sounding accent. That made me happy:)

Hey, people that are coming camping - I don't know if it rained on the farm yesterday, but it very well could have, so if you have anything that would be good for the fire, bring it. Entry fee to this farm is one dry log. :)

Things that make me happy today:
1. Emily has started a movement. So far, I have seen "things that make me happy posts" from Jamie, Erin, and Marta. I think this is a very good thing. Jeremy and I sometimes do this thing where we give each other one very nice compliment when we wake up. It's silly, but it works. It's nice to hear nice things from the ones we love:) Anyway, I'm very pleased with Emily's contribution to group morale here.

2. Cake last night with dinner made me very happy.

3. Campfires make me happy - my favorite part of fall, which is my favorite season of the year, is the smell of the air. It's crisp because of the cold moving in, but it's also very comforting because of the fires coming from chimneys and campsites. Also that farm smell really dies down with the cold.

4. I'm going to learn to ski this year. I already know how, but this year I'm going to really learn. I get free lessons:) And at the end of the season, I'll buy some cheap, crappy skis from the rental office, because employees get kickass discounts, like my $40 sofa.

5. I'm hoping to learn to crochet tonight. Then I'll crochet things. I love crafts. Olga says, "Meg! Eres artista!" And I say, "No..." and she says, "dibujas mucho?" and I say, "no puedo," then she says, "creo que eres artista." She's so sweet. If I do learn to crochet, I'm gonna start selling stuff at the wine tasting:) Between my bracelets and a bunch of scarves, I could fill up a table.

Can't wait to see you folks at the farm tonight. If you're not coming, don't say you weren't invited. I've only been talking about this camping thing for two months now.

Peace.
