It's kind of a tradition to play bridge all day at nationals and then get really fucking drunk every night. And I've been doing that quite well so far.

I just wanted to write down the observation that being drunk gets a person's guard down, and a lot of truths come out. And what I've been feeling each night, when I down a bunch of cups of cake-flavored vodka (sounds disgusting but seriously you guys it's so good...tastes exactly like birthday cake...), is almost pure happiness. I feel like my life, stripped down of all its bullshit concerns, is happy. And I love people. And my friends are wonderful and my life is wonderful and I'm really, really lucky. And I just wanted to put that down here.

Yeah I'm still really drunk right now. But I'm feeling really good and happy and loved and loving. And I don't have to drink to get to this place, but I like that this is where I go when I do lose my inhibitions, you know? Not like dancing naked on tables, but just not caring about the shit that's unfun anymore and focusing solely on all that is great. And there's so much of it and yay and that's all.

Yeah, this is a good way to be when you're drunk. Too often with people it goes to the opposite extreme. Happy you're happy!
