Nov. 18th, 2004 08:04 amI'm not going to school today. Partly because I'm not feeling well and partly because I just need a break. It was a little earlier than this time last year that I got really ill with whatever it was that stuck around for three or four months, so I'm not taking any chances of wearing myself out this year. I'm really nervous about a lot of things, not having medical insurance...but I'll be eligible for it at work in two months.
The job hunt...
I've accepted a job as head caddy in May at the Richmond regional, and I'm pretty sure I'll be going to Gatlinburg (at least I want to go to Gatlinburg) for a week this April, too, so that means two weeks of not working whatever full time job I'd have by then. So here's my thought. Stay full time at the front desk until June, which is easy enough. They will probably give me the time off for the tournaments. On my job applications, I can put that I am available for part time work but am scheduled to be out of town those two weeks and will be available for full time work by June 1. I've been thinking more and more that I will stay full time at the desk and start substitute teaching in addition while I wait for a good job. I don't want to accept a sub-par 9-5 when I can work nights at the desk and have my days free for part time work (subbing) that I want to do. The admissions office at BC won't even know if they are hiring until May anyway, so that's perfect. Anyway, I have options, and this is a good thing. The only problem is that there's NOTHING here that pays well. Luckily life here is cheap and I have a savings account with a little something...
Things I have to do today: I really should write my Kierkegaard paper. I have to finalize my presentation plan for Abshire...which means I need to talk to some Catholics asap. I have to catch up on my doing nothing.
Peace.
