Tada. Despite the hugeness of the picture, the tattoo itself is only about 2 inches across at its widest point. It's about an inch from my inner elbow on my right arm.
Really only people who live in Portland will understand just what this means, but it's the design from the old carpet at PDX airport. That carpet is fucking iconic around here, and the fact that they're replacing it with a new design is a BIG DEAL. The original design is teal and pink, but I got my tattoo in red and black, which are Blazers colors. So the tattoo has four meanings to me:
1. Portland!
2. Blazers!
3. Travel!
4. I'm ridiculous! I have a tattoo of a carpet pattern.
Fun fact: the design itself is meant to represent the runways at the airport.
I'm very pleased with it. It didn't hurt very much at all -- compared to my ankle tattoo last year, this one was a breeze. I won't say it was comfortable, but it was seriously no big deal.
