Dec. 13th, 2004 08:00 amIt's almost time for snow. They say we'll have the slopes up and running by Friday. That's happy. No more angry guests wanting their money back because our four seasons resort doesn't have snow. "I'm sorry, unreasonable man, but 3/4 of the year we don't have snow, and we have all the same activities plus or minus river tubing, and everyone pays the same price all year round." But soon this will be a non issue. People will then be asking for their money back because the slopes are too crowded and they didn't have fun because they didn't have the whole mountain to themselves. People are selfish, man.
My exams on Friday and Saturday were not so bad. The worst part was that they were in the morning. But so far I think I'm maintaining my averages. I saw all my professors at the Philosophy and Religion holiday party last night. Steve said I'd done well on what he's read of my exams so far. Not that I didn't know that. I have my final final this afternoon with Dr. Abshire. Without taking it at all, I have a C in the class. The exam is 23% of our grade, so I think all I have to do is make a passing grade to protect my A. I don't know, I'm not getting into the math of it...I just know I'm not really in a whole lot of danger where this class is concerned. The only things really hanging over my head are those papers. I think I'm a little more relaxed about them, now that the exams are out of the way. I have until tomorrow to finish them both. They'll be short, sweet, and to the point, if not the best work I've ever done. My second test in Philosophy of Science was such a work of art, though, I don't think I'll ever top it. Oh well.
The department party was fun last night. We were discussing different religious denominations and their particular beliefs, and I mentioned that the Witnesses believe that only 144,000 people will get into heaven. Dr. Scheppard answered with, "Why do you think there are so few Brethren?" I love her! It's a good thing, because I have a very intense class coming up with her for interterm. She's scary in the classroom, but really a splendid teacher. And her drawings...much fun:)
Danielle, you should come to my house tonight. I don't suppose you're going back to Roanoke until tomorrow. Bring Jeff, and I will show you two around the Nut. (That's what we call the mountain.) It will be a much needed breakaruski for me. Maybe we can even watch them make snow. Fun fun:) IM me if you are interested.
Jer and I are going for a nice walk this morning in the cold air. It should be nice. :)
Peace.
