I did go into work today. Seven hours, all of which will be OT. Heck yeah. We were down three people from our usual staff (which usually doesn't include me on a Monday), but still weren't terribly busy. The phones were ringing quite a bit. The best thing that has ever happened at work happened today. This requires some background. Okay, since we are a timeshare company (ick, I know), basically all our money comes from selling timeshares. To do this, we have to constantly bring new people in to see the resort. So we have three marketing offices that offer people all kinds of free crap (ski tickets, golf packages, etc) to come stay at the resort for a few days and go on a sales tour. They usually call the person and set up a reservation, then contact us and say "Yo, Mr. and Mrs. Solomon are going to come from 3/25 - 3/28, and they're supposed to get two free lift tickets," and then we do the rest. Sometimes, though, people have questions about their reservations or they need to reschedule, and they'll call us, because their reservation is with us. What they don't know is we have no idea what the details of their reservation are, so we always have them call back to the company that scheduled their stay. The biggest one, the Chesapeake office, recently got new phone numbers, and within the last month, we've all been giving out this new 800 number to anyone who calls and needs to speak to that office. Just today, we found out that we've been giving out a phone number to a sex hotline for the last month. I've never been more amused in all my life:) So that's what was great about my work day.

Also great was that Jan hired Gina to work all the same shifts that I work. We're gonna be front desk buddies:) That's in addition to all the other kinds of buddies we already are. I'm pleased.

I just woke up from a big nap. It's kind of inconvenient to fall asleep at 7pm, because then my body doesn't consider itself down for the night, just down for a nap, and I end up awake and hyper at 12am. I guess that's okay, considering I don't work again until tomorrow at 3pm. I did give myself a monster splinter just a minute ago, but thanks to the baby monster splinter I had last week, I knew exactly the procedure to follow and that bitch was out of my hand in no time. But now it both hurts like hell and itches at the same time. Grr. Stupid cats clawing up the banister. It's all their fault. But I love them, cause they're so cute and cuddly, even though they are cats;)

All the things I was waiting for came in the mail today, except for one package I'm still expecting from Mary Kay. I had a package received notice in my mailbox today, so I figured that was it, and I excitedly drove down to the post office, and got there just in time to see them close the window. But I banged on it fiercely, and it turns out, whining is a good way to get what you want, because after my "but I just missed you at the Massanutten mailboxes and drove out here in the snow...please don't make me wait another day-ay-ay..." they opened the door and brought me my husband's computer. Not having planned on that, I had little room in my car, but managed to squeeze it in and bring it home. Now we have our own little computer lab set up. It's great. I approve.

Also, I love love love the new acci-CD. LOVE IT. Muah!

That's all. Peace.

the sad thing is in over six years of regular job-holding, those are the only funny things that have ever happened.
