Mar. 10th, 2005 10:25 amThings that make me happy today:
Spending time with Emily V.
Seeing Audrey for the first time since like seventh grade
Doing dishes (only because they are DONE)
Care packages from my mother-in-law
Big paycheck from last week's overtime
Easy workday
No work tomorrow
Last night Jer went to Roanoke after work. He's looking into selling Cutco like I'm doing my Mary Kay (which is going well, I might add), and he had to interview down there. Since he was going, he stopped at his grandparents' house and saw his mom and dad there. I talked to them on the phone. His granddad was unhappy and unwell, but hopeful about the long term, so I was glad to hear that. He said, "I'm tired and sore, but I'm glad to be alive." That's the spirit. The surgery was successful in removing his prostate, but the cancer isn't all gone, so he has to have radiation and chemo now. Of all the people that don't deserve that kind of thing...I mean he's such a great person. I'm so lucky to have such awesome in-laws. Everybody think happy thoughts for Grandpa Driver, okay? Thanks.
Jay called me this morning to say he's firing his lawyer. Instead of calling him, his lawyer only calls Randy, which looks a little fishy to everyone, especially since Randy essentially kidnapped Sean from Jay. It's a mess, and once again, I'm so glad I don't work for them anymore.
Work last night was okay. Burke was a total asshole and I have gone beyond amused at the drama to seriously pissed off. But rather than get wrapped up in it, I think it's best if I just pull back. I can't say I'm fond of the interactions we've had lately.
Anyway, Emily should be here soon, then we are going to galavant (sp?) around the valley for a while. Oh! I should take her to the farmer's market! :)
Peace.
