Mar. 22nd, 2005 02:40 pmI know this is like my millionth update today, and it probably won't even be my last...
I really don't want to go to work at all. The job search has reached a point of urgency. Tonight as soon as I get home, I'm going to update my resume and submit it to a zillion places.
Speaking of work tonight...I'm on the schedule until 9, but since we've been without a Tuesday night manager for the past two months, I've been staying every time until 11pm, when the night crew comes in. If I didn't stay, a certain coworker would be working alone from 9-11, and that's just not cool. However, that certain coworker has done me no favors lately, and I don't want to work any later than I have to tonight, so I'm going to tell the day manager that they need to find someone to cover the last two hours because I'm not going to do it anymore. So what if that reflects poorly on me (it really shouldn't) - I've all but decided I don't want a supervisor job anyway.
Patti has been super helpful answering all my real estate questions today. I hope I have more email from her when I get home tonight. That really does seem like what I most want to do...but I'm going to BC tomorrow for an interview with Career Services so I can get their guidance. I'm looking forward to it - it's really time to get serious about the future. What about teaching school, you ask? I still plan to go to grad school, but I will kill myself if I work at the front desk for the next year and a half while I finish grad school, so the number one priority is to find a more satisfying job to do until I can realistically begin teaching...and I might put grad school off another year if I find something more like a career...but I doubt it, because I really do want to teach. We'll see.
Peace.
