Apr. 5th, 2005 08:40 amI don't want to go to work today...but at least it's only 3-9. I'd so much rather stay home and watch more baseball. I am getting more and more apathetic about my current job because the chances of me getting a much better one very soon are very good. I sent my application to the museum via email today, and I spoke with the Admissions Director at Mary Baldwin College last night. That was a very promising conversation. I still know nothing about the pay there but I imagine it's around 25K with some good benefits and flexible schedule, given the nature of the job. The only problem is, she's not hiring until at least May, and I think the museum would want to hire a lot sooner, so I was worried I might have to make a choice between the two before I even interviewed at MBC. However, when I spoke with Lisa Branson, she said she'd be willing to interview me now even if she can't hire me until later just so I know where I stand with her if/when other offers come in. That's absolutely ideal, because I don't really want to start a job before May 31, since I'll be directing caddies all week before that, and there's also the FRFF issue. I have to be able to have off those six days. MBC is ideal because she'd be willing to have me start in August - which is after all the summer's major bridge tournaments and concerts. It's also the job I've wanted all along (even if it is at a different college), so unless the salary is way lower than I expect, I'm favoring that one. I'm putting my application and references in the mail today. Oh, that reminds me, I need to get reference information from Erin, who is not currently online. Erin, if you read this...please send me your phone number and address over IM or email, whichever. :)
Baseball last night was good. The Diamondbacks and the Nationals both lost, which is kind of a bummer, but it's just opening day. I'm not really into the Nationals yet, but I figure they're the home team, so I should try to get excited. I'm excited there's an NL team close to home now so I can see the Diamondbacks come to town. Even without most of the players I came to know and love, I still have team loyalty to the Dbacks. Anaheim starts its season today. I've always liked them, but I love them this year with Steve Finley. Hopefully I'll catch them in Baltimore a few times this summer. Adam, are you listening?
Jcow is cooking a yummy breakfast, so I'm going to go get ready to eat it. Peace.
