Without knowing the ins and outs of this proposed legislation, I have to say it sounds like a fucking awesome idea. Not awesome enough to make up for all the waste we have already, but still, a step in the right direction. I have a feeling, bipartisan as its sponsorship may be, that it won't pass, though. Once I've done more research on it, I'll probably send a few notes out to Congressmen. I have to go to work in 10 minutes, but if anyone else wants to do some digging, feel free to comment and let me know what you think.
I'm feeling much better than I have been, thanks for asking. My throat is still all fucked up, but the rest of me is A-OK, so I'm counting my blessings rather than dwelling too much on my lost voice. My new voice is kind of sexy, anyway. I wonder if anyone will hit on me on the phones tonight...something to keep track of.
Speaking of the phones, here's a conversation from last night:
Cave: Front Desk.
Caller: Is there supposed to be poop in my toilet?
Cave: Um, no...(commences intense apology)
The conversation ended with a promise that we'd move them to a different unit and send security right away to give them new keys and help move their luggage. Just as we were sending security out, the same caller called back:
Cave: Front Desk.
Caller: It's me again, in 326A. I'm sorry. Apparently my husband beat me to the bathroom.
Cave: (ridiculous laughter) Okay. No problem.
When Cave told me about this, I laughed so hard I gave myself the hiccups, which didn't go away the rest of the damn night. Oh well, it's a fair price for a quality laugh.
One last thing. My three-day Noah's Ark journey ended in sad defeat today. At level 240, with 9,895,160 points, I met my demise. It was a good run.
Peace.
