Apr. 17th, 2005 10:19 pmI'm at my in-laws' house now. I'd forgotten what a bitch dial-up is. Did you think I was going to call one of my in-laws a bitch just then? Haha. My modem-in-law is a bitch.
Anyway, it's slightly after 10pm, and Jeremy is due to arrive here sometime around midnight. I'm soooooo excited. He said he played in the tournament this morning and actually did okay. I am so excited for him! I'll let him post to his own journal about his Gatlinburg experiences. I'll bet that he forgot to get me a watch, though. I asked him a bunch of times before he went but I have a feeling that he got caught up in everything and never got it for me, since he never asked...I wanted one because the souvenier shops down there sell really cute/cheap ones, and my good watch is el dead. We'll see if he remembered...if he didn't it's kind of my fault for not reminding him, but I reserve the right to be irritated and use this against him in the future if necessary.
Here at the Taylors', we were joined for dinner by Grandma and Grandpa Driver as well as Lanae and Kristen, Jeremy's aunt and cousin. I really like Kristen. She's a junior in high school and wants to be a history major at William and Mary. I'm hoping we have a chance to spend some time together this summer. It's nice to have relatives my own age for once. Well, kind of my own age;)
Jer's grandfather looks like he's doing okay. He still has cancer and he starts radiation therapy next week, but he was doing well tonight. He slept through a good chunk of the evening, but while awake he was pretty much his normal self.
Annette will worry that I only pretended to like dinner to be polite, but let the record show that it was really good. And those really were just random sneezes - I am not having an allergic reaction to her house. :)
Since dial-up is such a pain in the patoot, I'm going to sign off now and play hearts just like in the days of yore. You know, back when we all had computers but they weren't really good for anything like cheating on term papers and looking up obscure porn. ;)
Peace.

Date: 2005-04-18 06:20 am (UTC)I am allergic to my in-laws' house! Sucks to be around family and be red-nosed and sneezing constantly. Have you had problems in the past?
