Apr. 29th, 2005 10:27 amThanks to those of you who have donated so far to the Juvenile Diabetes walk. You people rock my world. And I'm sure Shelly is thankful, too.
I did not get a lot of sleep last night. Jcow played bridge with my mom (apparently it went quite well - I am pleased) and didn't get home until very late. I stayed up watching South Park, then we had to launder the dress I want to wear today, so we were up until about 2, playing rummy and waiting for the wash cycle to finish. Rummy ended in a tie (but I had a stellar game, if I do say so).
Today is a big day. I have lunch with Erin at noon, an interview for the job I really want the most at 2, a Mary Kay thing at 5 (though this one is more of a favor than anything else), dinner with the husband, cameo appearance at May Day, then a birthday party at Boom Boom's place. Then tomorrow, which I swear is Saturday, is back to normal day.
Funny phone call last night:
Caller: I need to pay my maintenance fees.
Me: You'll need to call between 9 and 5 to speak to the maintenance fee office. They're closed now.
Caller: But they're open tomorrow?
Me: Yes.
Caller: What are their hours on Saturday?
Me: They're not open on weekends.
Caller: But they're open tomorrow?
Me: Yes.
Caller: What time?
Me: 9-5.
Caller: How can they be open 9-5 tomorrow if they're not open on Saturdays?
Me: Because tomorrow is not Saturday.
Caller: Yes it is.
Me: No, today is Thursday. That makes tomorrow Friday.
Caller: No, today is Friday.
Me: Trust me, sir, today is Thursday.
Caller: It's Friday!
Me: Sir, Friday is my day off. I would not be here if today were Friday. Furthermore, we would be far too busy to have this argument if today were a checkin day, but it is not. It's Thursday.
Caller: Oh, then what time are they open tomorrow?
Me: 9-5! Bye.
And I hung up.
One of the other funny things about this call is that the guest was calling from a unit that has a Friday checkout. If yesterday had been Friday, he would have been WAY late for checkout. Dumbass.
Time to go. I have to iron my dress.
Peace.
