jianantonicToday turned out fantastically. There's still time to fuck it all up, but I think I'm going to go ahead and make the call: good day.
Work was slow, but it was Wayne's last day, and that is indeed something to celebrate. He started the day off on the right foot by making a ton of racist comments and then telling Darlene that her job as his replacement was to keep me in line, politically. I retorted by adding, "What he means is you have to talk out of your ass all day about things you know nothing about." For someone who's been around the globe, the man has no sense of a global community. It makes me sad that people like him exist. Not that I want him dead, I just want him changed. But I'm glad I don't have to deal with his shit anymore.
When I got home, I played some quality Civ II. Turns out, I don't think Republic is the best form of government. Unless you're in a serious space race. Then it probably is. But I beat the snot out of everyone as a Communist regime before I even discovered Railroad. This probably means very little to most of you. Okay, I admit. I might be a little bit of a gamer.
After Civ, Elizabeth and I went to LeClub to swim laps. After two, we decided a good goal would be five total laps. We were resting at each wall, but we did keep up a pretty good pace when we were actually swimming. After five, we treaded water for a long time, did a few aquaerobics moves, and decided we could try a few more laps. We ended up doing ten, which is the total requirement for lifeguarding. I certainly didn't do them consecutively enough to meet the requirement, but the fact that I could do the whole thing without needing a lifeguard myself was pretty amazing. I'm very proud of myself. Tomorrow, we're doing water aerobics at 9 and then some light weightlifting after the class. Since I'll be gone all next week, I'll be on my own for workouts after this, but I hope that by next week I can do the ten laps only resting in between whole laps instead of just at every wall. We'll see.
And the Diamondbacks won. Javy Vasquez threw a CG shutout, too. At this moment, the only thing that would make me happier would be if my husband cooked dinner. Hint, hint.
