Dec. 29th, 2004 08:15 amI finally saw the last episode of Sex and the City. The DVDs came out yesterday, so Jer brought it home with him, courtesy of one of our xmas gift cards. I really liked it. It's been almost a year since it aired. I can't believe I waited that long. I cracked and watched the last episode of Friends the week that I bought it, even though they still haven't released the last two seasons. Which, by the way, I can't wait for them to do! I'm such a sitcoms-I-shouldn't-have-been-watching-at-the-age-I-started-watching-them junkie.
Now I'm just waiting for the Jcow to arise so we can make our move on Roanoke. It's been such a full week already and it's only Wednesday. Yesterday work was really busy. We had to call for backups. Normally on a Tuesday night, everyone sits around doing crosswords and the concierge boys bust out their rubber band ball and play with Chris in the lobby. It's the deadest night of the week, because the sales office is closed on Wednesday and Thursday, so we don't have any promotional guests check in, and hardly anyone comes to a timeshare on a Tuesday. Last night, though, there were lines all night, the switchboard was always busy, and there were seven of us working. Crazy shit. I got to work an extra hour and a quarter just because I couldn't get off the phone long enough to gather my things and clock out. Chris switched his Saturday shifts with me, so now instead of working 1-9, I work 7-5, starting next week. It's two more hours a week, and it's in the morning like I had wanted...I just hope the ten hour shift doesn't wear me out. Especially since I still have 3-11pm the night before. Now if I could only get rid of my Sunday shift. I swear the people I work with are some of the most incompetent doofuses there are. I asked Bridget (the training manager who never trains anyone and is also in charge of the schedule)two months ago if I could drop my Sundays and pick up Ashley's Wednesdays when she quit. I even put a little note in her mailbox so she'd remember. What did she do, though? She gave the new guy that shift AND Ashley N's Sunday, which means I can't even trade with him. Grr. It's not that I need Sundays off...I just want them because that's a day everyone else has off, as well, and one of these days, my husband will be preaching on Sundays and I'd like to be there for it. Oh well. I'm sure we'll hire a whole new batch before long and I can pawn it off on one of them. Anyway I have a sweet paycheck coming on Friday, so I'm going to have fun thrift storing with Helen that morning:)
Peace.
