Jun. 10th, 2005 09:11 amThings are getting better.
Work yesterday was fine. I felt like a megadork when I came hopping in, but luckily one of the girls I work with had some spare crutches at home and gave them to me. The new common opinion is that I strained the ligaments in my foot. That sounds reasonable, given what it felt like when it happened. Sprouse said that if that's what I did, I'll probably be able to walk again in a few days and I'll be completely healed in two to three weeks. That's kind of a bummer, but it's a lot better than it could be. Everyone was very nice and offered to do things for me all night. Of all people, Burke was waiting on me left and right. I was very touched.
Bridget asked me to come in today from 3-11. I said I'd come in, but I'm not staying past 9, since I work at 7am the next day. She said fine, guaranteed my spot on the switchboard, and wrote me in. I need to remember to pack my own dinner, though, because Fridays are really busy and it's hard to get a break. I hate working on Fridays, but 3-9 will fly by, and it means I don't lose all my sick time. Actually I won't lose any of it, because I'll have 30 hours by the end of the week. That's funny, since I'm hoping to quit and I've been trying to think of ways to use it up. I guess right before I give my notice, I'll get "the flu."
I had a dream that we were on our King's Dominion trip - which, btw, is planned for Monday, assuming I can walk by then (here's hoping), and you're ALL invited. Anyway, it was just Jer and me at first, and then our Richmond-area friends were going to meet us in the afternoon. Since it was just the two of us, we only rode the non-roller coasters, because let's face it, roller coasters are best taken in large groups (remember that time it was just us and one other group of kids riding the Rebel Yell all day? that was awesome), we were going to wait. But we waited, and we waited, and none of you bitches showed up. No phone calls, no nothing. The funniest part was, two of the people we were waiting on were going to join us after a heavy metal concert that started at 8 in the morning. Nice.
Who is in for this trip anyway? I've mentioned it directly to Emily and Danny, but anyone else who's free that day should definitely join us. I'll keep us updated on the status of my foot, in case we have to push this thing back a week, but no matter what, it's going to be on a Monday. Hopefully this coming one....
Peace.
