I worked 10 hours today. I bonded with Melinda for the last one since we were the only ones left. I think I'm going to make a regular thing of this OT business. It's so easy. I don't have to turn on my phone before 9 or after 5, so if I go in early or stay late, I can crank up my CD player and do the mindless work that tends to be left over at the end of the day. Then again, that's not required, so it's not like I'd have to stay and do that work if I was feeling homesick. I figured out my takehome OT pay. The first hour and a half of OT will pay my insurance (which comes out before taxes), then the next hour will pay my weekly cell phone bill (the bill is monthly, but divide it up weekly and it equals one hour of takehome OT pay), and the next two and a half hours cover cable and water, and I almost always get 5 hours OT without even thinking about it. So. I'm a happy girl.
I worked hard today...learned how to do the end-of-the-month balancing. The account I manage was over by 15K when we printed the initial figures, but I found all the problems very quickly, and everyone was quite proud of me. Apparently, things like 15,000 dollar discrepancies are expected at the end of the month, and the last two or three days of each month is usually spent trying to figure out why the f it's not balanced, so it was supposedly awesome that I was able to balance it in just a half an hour. Yay. I love my job, really:)
I've got more to say, but I want to go knit something instead. Maybe I'll come back later.
Peace.
