Z got home from Eugene last night, and he's on his way to Redmond for a couple of days with his parents now, but he spent the morning with me, and we got a lot of shit done. Two people working on cleaning house is so much more efficient than doing it on my own. The guest bathroom is now completely up to code, and we're making good progress on the rest of the house, too. That's the only room that's fully done, but at least I've got something in the win column.
We've been talking about buying bikes, and I need one by next Wednesday at the latest, since Z will have the car in Penticton and I don't really feel like transitting 90+ minutes each way to an office that's 8 miles from my house. The bike route is 10 miles and about an hour, but it would be a much more enjoyable hour than sitting on a bus. Z wants a bike, too, so we stopped by a few shops today. I'd done a little preliminary shopping last week, and today we went on a few test rides. We each fell in love with the third bike we tested, so I got a nice new hybrid Diamondback (it's a Diamondback! How perfect for me!) and Z got some sort of cruiser bike that's super comfortable, but not really made for long hauls. I also picked up a heart monitor on sale at the bike shop, and I've been playing with it all morning. Apparently my heart rate goes up 20bps when Z grabs my boob. I have a training session with Ertan in a little while, so I'm excited to see how intense these electrodes think that workout is. (Last week's was KILLER. They're all killer, actually, but they're getting progressively killerer.)
Z just took off for Redmond, and I'll be heading to the gym in a moment. Then after that I'm meeting Shanon to go to the mall and walk around with Jack. I have some things to return to JCPenney, but chances are decent I'll do a little shopping, too. It's really nice having a job and being able to afford things again. Here's hoping I still think it's a good day after Ertan's through with me. He always rips me to shreds...
