Jun. 21st, 2005 09:24 pmAm I Pavlov's dog or what?
Whenever I have an alcoholic beverage, the moment the bottle hits my lips, I get a buzz. I've had about ten sips of this apple smirnoff (read: chick beer) and already I'm feelin' groovy. Does this happen to anyone else?
Anyway, today has been good, good, and good.
I swam in the pool a bit, and while it wasn't the kind of swimming I'd like to be doing, at least I am able to get out of bed and do stuff now. Then work was really good because A) It's a Tuesday, which is never bad B) My least favorite coworker called in sick C) Jeremy cooked dinner for everyone and it was the best meal ever in the history of the world and D) I read Harry Potter for the whole shift and it's really, really good. And of course now I'm off work which is the best part of all.
Chris had this great idea that instead of all buying our dinners each night, we should take turns on Tuesday nights and cook for each other. This week was my week, so I had Jeremy do it. I mean, let's face it, no one wants to eat what I cook. Jer went ALL OUT. We had vegetarian chili pot pie - black beans, peppers, soy "beef," kidney(?) beans, corn bread crust - so good. Everyone loved it and Jer was just basking in the glory of his success. He's already talking about next time it's my turn. Heh.
Oh the other thing that's good about today is I'm finally getting around without the crutches. As long as I wear a flip-flop, it's not too hard for me to walk around. I mean, it's no small task, but I can do it. I'm not going to push it, though, because I would prefer not to set myself back any...
It doesn't sound like I'm going to the pool tomorrow, because Jer is making plans to go to Roanoke early in the morning. That's okay. I'll sleep in for once, since we're going to sleep downstairs in our bedroom instead of upstairs in the room of windows. Anyway...peace.
