I got the job!
This affects you, the reader, in several ways. One, I will probably be much more positive on LJ, and two, the camping trip will have to move. I can probably just move it forward a day to Saturday-Sunday August 13-14. But the job switch is tricky, so it may have to be later. The deal is, since it's an interdepartmental transfer, they do want me to start ASAP, but they don't want to leave my old department, heretofore referred to as "Hell," high and dry without me. So until they can replace me in Hell, I'll be working three weekdays in my new office (I'll have my own office!) and Saturday and Sunday morning in Hell. Hell gets to keep me for up to thirty days on that schedule, so...we'll see how it goes. Hopefully they'll replace me sooner and the camping trip will be unaffected, but I honestly won't know until that very week. So, for now, plan on August 13-14, but be willing to do it another day, let's say early September, to give you college folk time to settle down.

So, there are many things that make me thrilled about this move. First of all, it will be better work with better hours for better pay, and quite possibly better coworkers. We'll see. I'll have WEEKENDS. Two days off in a row! I'll get to go to church with my husband, and meet and hang out with all the smart, liberal, friendly Brethren and UU people he keeps telling me about. I'll have evenings. I'll have every holiday off, with pay. I'll have more money and more vacation time. I'll maintain all my benefits AND get more seniority on the mountain, which will affect my promotability and stock options forfeitures. (Remember, forfeitures are something remaining employees GET when employees quit before they're fully vested). I'll get to go on weekend getaways - to see my niece, my brothers, my Emilies...I'M SO EXCITED!

Also, I won't be working in the same building as the deli, or any restaurant for that matter, so I will be forced to pack a lunch, which will be both cheaper and healthier than deli food. Rock ON.

Anyone wanna go out with me tonight? It'll have to be Ruby Tuesday, cause I wanna see my husband on his BIRTHDAY! Happy birthday, Jcow, you get a happy wifey!

Peace.

Props on the promotion/transition/whatever. Fewer props, lamentably, for the D-bax

YAY YAY YAY! Congratulations, I'm so excited for you!!! Huzzah!

(Your excitement is infectious, plus I'm in a really good mood to begin with, so...YAY!)

Packing lunch is the best thing EVER.

Saturday night the 13th would actually *not* be ideal for me, so if you do move the camping trip, do so with gleeful abandon. :-D

Woo!

Talk to you sometime, eh? Lurve!
