Sep. 2nd, 2005 10:44 amWork is quite slow. We spent the first hour that we were here talking about the hurricaine...it just blows our minds what's going on down there. Makes me glad I live on a mountain. Then we talked about gas prices, which makes me glad I live where I work, but kind of diminishes the joy of living on a mountain - driving two miles straight up each day is a little hard on the ol' coche. But it could be worse. It could be twenty miles on flat road. Boring and costly, no thanks.
Jer decided to quit Ruby Tuesday. We did some figuring last night, and on top of making more here anyway, he wouldn't ever have to drive, and since his car only takes premium gas and gets about a quarter mile per gallon, that will be a big money saver. It actually makes me really sad that he's quitting there - it's the end of a real era - but it will be good for us. We'll have so much more time together, and we'll be able to count on the paychecks. I do hate how I never know if I'll be able to hang out with my husband. Weekends are out because he works graveyard and sleeps during the day, and he was working most evenings at Ruby's, so I'm really looking forward to the new schedule. And it will be more income, which is pathetic but true. Damn rednecks and Dukes don't know how to tip.
Nothing else is really going on at the moment. I'm weighing whether or not to volunteer to work tomorrow. It would be as few or as many hours as I want...it's not like I have other plans...Jer will be sleeping...I think I will. Just from when I wake up until lunchtime or so. Until I get totally bored with whatever I'm doing...
Peace.
