Sep. 6th, 2005 10:50 amLabor Day was a good and bad thing. I had the day off - definitely a plus, and spent the whole day running around town doing things I wanted to do (not had to do - also a big plus). And it was a paid holiday. All that's good and well, but those 8 paid hours don't count towards OT, and I guarantee that if I'd worked yesterday, it would've been more than 8 hours. So I'll still get a better-than-40-hour-paycheck, but my "extra" hours don't count as OT unless I work more than 8. That'd be 10 hour plus days each day, which I could do, but probably won't. We're really slow this week. That will change next week, when we send all the past due account to collections. Melinda tells me there will be thousands of those. Hooray. I've already dealt with enough collections people to know that they're not the most pleasant folks. That's okay. I still love my job:)
I'm thinking of enrolling in a six week real estate certification course this fall. I think it would be fun to sell houses, but I wonder if I could do that as just a weekend job, or if I would have no choice but to take days off for closings and such. I'll email Patti and see what she says about it, because I think I'd have so much fun doing real estate. I don't know if I'd really be able to make much at it without going full time, though. We'll see.
I made so much jewelry this weekend. Now that I've recovered most of my supplies from the former resident thief, I'm much more enthusiastic about my crafts. I went to the Craft House yesterday to look for some supplies to help with my memory wire bracelets and rings - they're a pain in the ass to work with, but the end result is so much better than other methods. I ended up buying lots of findings (the little parts that aren't the beads themselves) and trying out some new methods. I'm getting pretty good, if I do say so. Pictures by the end of the week.
My number one priority at the moment is to find a workout schedule that works. It will help tremendously to have Jer home in the evenings, 'cause he'll go to the gym with me. I think my foot is finally okay enough to try some elliptical jogging or biking now. Straight up jogging is still out of the question....
Anyway, time to order lunch...Cassidy's making rounds taking money.
Peace.
