This is going to be a tough season for all charities not related to hurricanes.

Seriously. It's important to give what you can to the places your help/money/blood/etc is needed, and there are plenty of people/places in need without natural disasters and all that. I'm glad that the hurricanes have driven into folks a spirit of giving and a desire to help, but I'm disappointed that the gulf coast is the only thing in the news anymore. There are hardships everywhere...let's not forget that with the end of hurricane season. And for that matter, the areas devastated by hurricanes last year (Punta Gorda, FL, etc) remain devastated to this day, but out of the news and out of our wallets...so here's where I plug Heifer International...www.heifer.org...thank you, have a good day.

Peace.

in unrelated news...

Tomorrow. I need as much sleep as humanly possible. Can I call your cell when I leave here? I'll need to be at the gravity lounge around 6:30 (show's at 8, right?) ... and I'm going to sleep in... but hopefully we can do some hanging around?

Let me know what you think.

It's like, I'm glad that peole are helping people impacted by a disaster. That's really good. But, why does it always take a problem to get people to pull their wallets out of their asses? Like, nobody gave a good god damn about those same people until they had to spend a few days in super-hell and had absolutely nothing left.
I feel like going off on those people like: Why didn't you see the problem before hand and send them aid? In fact, why couldn't everyone have just gotten a raise in their taxes, then they could have fixed the levees before New Orleans flooded? But, no...You needed your $200 rebate, and a president who sent us to an uneeded war. OK. That's SOOO much better.
Now you can send your $25 check to the Red Cross and feel like a Humanitarian. (and write it off on your taxes)
