Man, Arlo was fantastic! The opening band, the Mammals, were pretty great also. The funniest thing was, before the show started, I was looking around to see if there was anyone I knew in the audience. Well, some, but behind the sound booth was none other than BOB MCNICHOLS of EFO fame. I talked to him at intermission and he said he was filling in where he could until EFO was back on the road. I told him I have Starr Hill tickets, but I'll understand if I need to trade those in for a later date. I'll travel if need be. Adrian bought me a ginger bourbon (I think that's what you call it), which tasted like candy, so I was good and tipsy for the rest of the show. Arlo is such a great storyteller, I really can't do him justice to retell the stories. I tried telling one to Jer, but he got bored and interrupted me, which is a dealbreaker as far as stories go. If you want to hear a good story, ask me about Joseph or Bob Dylan. Those were the best stories from the evening. I'll do my best to retell them, but not now.

I bought a great shirt after the show. It's a reference to "Alice's Restaurant," so if you haven't heard the song, find it, listen to it, and then you'll get the shirt. It's a camo print that says "Not moral enough to join the army." And it has "Group W Bench" on one sleeve. I love it.

Afterwards, Adrian took me to the pool room at Miller's. Ben Atkinson was there at the bar, so the three of us hung out talking long enough for the zinfandel that I had when we got there to wear off so I could drive Adrian home. I got in around 1, didn't get to sleep until 2, and Mom and Dad woke me up on their way out around 5. They're in Morgantown today for the VT football game. I wish I was at the Bridgewater game today - we're playing Hamden-Sydney, which is our biggest rival these days and also the only real contender for the ODAC championship, so even though it's only October, the season kind of hinges on this game. I understand how a playoff style championship would be difficult for D-IA football, given the amount of time necessary between games, but I think the bowls are kind of a bummer. I mean, it's great to get a bowl game and win it and all, but it's like, you lose one or two games and you can't even challenge for the title. That's the great thing about basketball - you can have a team that just makes it into the playoffs, and suddenly ignites in March to go all the way. I guess in a way that's less pure, because they haven't had to maintain a consistent level of prowess all season, but it's great to see upsets, and you don't even get a chance for upsets in the football postseason - unless you go to a D-III school like I did:) Yay Bridgewater;)

Okay, that's enough.

Peace.
