More thoughts on the Supreme Court
Oct. 3rd, 2005 04:35 pmAside from reading the article on cnn.com about the new nomination, I haven't had time today to do any further research, but Adam gave me a call here at work to tell me his thoughts, and I like them. His feeling is that Bush and his advisers expected the Dems to filibuster ANYONE, so he started with a nominee he didn't really want, so that after they've filibustered her, he can nominate a much more conservative judge and the Dems will all look like assholes if they try to filibuster twice, so the conservative judge gets the nod. The only problem is, he picked someone the Dems actually like. Now, this is all second-hand information on my part, because I haven't seen any responses other than those published in the cnn article, which basically is saying that the uber conservatives are shitting themselves. So that's a good sign. And I was glad to see that Arlen Specter of PA is in support of Miers, because even though he's a Republican, he tends to be very progressive and left-leaning. So, once again, I ask your thoughts...

I'd be happy to go to yoga with you, but no judging, because I seriously have no flexibility whatsoever and am terrible at yoga...but I like it and expect I'll get better if I keep at it...
