On my way to work, it was rainy and wet, and I see this truck come down in the other lane as I'm headed up the mountain, and it looks like it has snow on it. I think, why would someone paint their car like that? It's too early. Then the next car had "snow" on it, too. What is this, some sort of promotion? Then I get out of the woods in the gap to where I can see the rest of the mountain, and everything from Del Webb Drive on up is covered in snow! Like, actual couple-inches-deep snow! In Virginia! In October! Holy shit!

Nancy said they've closed route 33 because it's just too slick. Ridiculous!

Emily Gercke - you're the weather genius - why does this happen?

This is crazy! And kind of cool. Peace.

It's beyond awesome. I love snow! I could see all the mountains here to the west were just swallowed in snowy clouds this morning. I called Mike in Richmond to tell him. He's jealous. :)

They're calling for 5-10 inches in Highland County today and tonight!

When I was driving to work, there was some icey stuff on my windshield. Aparrently, 33 East over the mountain is a mess. And that is closed. Apparently snow caused two tractor trailors to jack-knife.

I heard from a lady here that all of Stanardsville is out of power and 33 is closed both east and west of town. It's so nuts!

Whoa... snow in the deep south? It must be one of the signs of the coming apocalypse!

Deep south? Haha, you haven't spent much time here. I may be in Redneck Central, but the deep south is a few states lower than Virginia.

Well, I grew up in central Virginia, in a town called Charlottesville, which I've only really learned to appreciate since moving 30 minutes to the west. I'm now a hop, skip, and a jump from the WV border in a town called McGaheysville. It's so backwoods...I mean, it's beautiful here, I live on a resort, but the people are so uncultured! Only about 10% of high school grads from the area go on to four year colleges. Although, most treat community college as a four year or longer endeavor. Aside from my husband, I don't know a single other college grad in this town. So, I like the environment, but the people are so uneducated and closed-minded it just makes me want to cry.

I want to add that Charlottesville is the coolest town in Virginia. UVA students are pompous asses, but since they're so stuck up Thomas Jefferson's ass, they never venture off campus to the really cool parts of town. That's a good thing. C'ville is diverse, hip, intellectual, and pretty. It's also too fucking expensive for me to live there unless I want to move in with Mom and Dad...and husband?

HA! CT may be geographically south of Massachusetts, but it is not "the south." Seriously.

Yeah, I know it's not totally wacky, but it was 80 degrees two days ago! It's still an anomaly.
