Jan. 11th, 2006 06:16 pmI had not planned on staying late at work today, but then, things don't always go as planned. I just got home. I had to miss yoga tonight, but that's kind of okay because I don't feel all that great this evening. I have a third degree tummyache. I don't know how many degrees this scale would be, as it is completely made up, but I figured third sounded serious enough to communicate my discomfort.
Anyway, I got some of my new duties today - I am now the proud accountant for Shenandoah Villas (which I'd already had) and the Summit, with all its subassociations. I am pleased. The Summit stuff was a bit backed up (understatement), so I spent the day catching up on that. Then at about 3:30, we started late notices. Since I'm on mail duty this week, I had to stay until all the notices had been mailed. I filled six large mail bins with invoices, and we only did the two smaller associations today. The larger two will be done tomorrow, hopefully all during the day. We'll see. I know this is very exciting babble.
I spoke to my boss to get some more details of my mini-promotion. She'll be doing my six month review next week so she can give me a raise. That pleases me, but the mountain is not known for its generous pay increases, so I'm not looking at a huge sum here. Just enough to pay for a few more minor luxuries. I tend to work so much overtime that even a small raise can really add up, so it's something to look forward to.
I'm pretty close to done with Memoirs of a Geisha. I meant to finish it last night, but Jer made me put it down so I could get a full night's sleep. I've got about 50 pages left. So far very good, but I get the feeling there's a lot more story packed into those fifty pages. It's a really great read, and I recommend it wholeheartedly to all of my friends. Now I'm off to go finish it. I'll do my book report when I'm done.
Peace.

Date: 2006-01-11 04:27 pm (UTC)A co-op house would be rad. People joke that my husband and I run a commune on the mountain because we're always taking people in. There are five of us in our house right now. My housing dream is to build cob houses (as seen on the Discovery Channel's "Dirty Jobs") on my farm in Nelson County (inherited property in the perfect location - but no house). You know, get a bunch of hippies together to build them and then live in them in peace and harmony having fires and song circles every night. Some think I'll grow out of this, but I know better.
