Yay for Weekends
Sep. 22nd, 2003 08:03 amYesterday Jer and I met Emily and Chris at the entrance to the park to go hiking, only to find that the park was CLOSED due to the hurricane. Bummer. But not a total loss, because we just turned tail and went to Crabtree Falls instead. Not necessarily the most exciting, but that is my favorite hike of all time. It's just so incredibly beautiful the whole way up, and when you get to the top the view is amazing. I have pictures...I'll try to remember to load them on here soon.
After the hike, Jeremy convinced me to visit my parents. Eh. It was ok, I guess. I scored some jewelry off Mom after I convinced her that she really never wears it. My parents' place sucked. When I complained that Dad hadn't given me the money he said he would ($1500 given out of a promised $8000 - from my own bank account, mind you), he yelled at me for spending too much. "Don't spend so much of it if you don't have enough." "The problem is, Dad, when you don't pay your bills, they charge you more." (Silence). And I happen to be saving my money from work for something nice - oh, say - a house. Anyway it's not a huge deal...I'll weasel my own money away from their vice grip somehow.
After the excruciating visit with Mom and Dad, we went to Elana and Aaron's house. That was fun. Aaron and Jer bonded while talking about computers, and Elana and I planned a time for her to come visit me. Yay for visits.
I got home much later than anticipated, and completed 0% of my homework. Bah. But I'm off for class now, and it was a weekend well spent.
Peace.
