jianantonicAt the beginning of the year, I took a lot of time to go over my transcript and write up a nice long list of all the classes I'd be willing and able to tutor for this coming semester, which I sent to Dr. Studwell, our tutor coordinator guy. Since then, he's sent out a bunch of emails to the list of tutors with certain classes on them, to which I have replied requesting specific ones, etc. Last year I tutored 8 students in Spanish 202. Most of them were failing when I began with them, and EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM got A's. Yet do I get offered the Spanish jobs? No...I get an email from Studwell asking me to tutor for American Constitutional Development, PSCI 347. A. That wasn't on the list of classes I supplied him with earlier this yer. B. I've never taken it. C. If you don't give me any Spanish jobs, I might just accept your offer to tutor these classes, just so I can make some cash. Come on, dude, you know I'm good, and I tutored like 20 hours a week last year. Hook me up. That's just annoying. No, I wouldn't actually accept a job I couldn't do. I really do want to help people here.
I bought tickets today for an EFO show in December...that's right, when it comes to concerts, I'm like one of those people who gets all their Christmas shopping done in June. I already know I'll be seeing EFO in Charlottesville and Staunton this December, Arlo Guthrie in November, and the Accidentals in February and May. Anyway I'm really excited because my seats are really good, and I bought four tickets so I'd be able to supply my friends with seats when they realize they want to go and want to have someone to sit with:) I've already asked Helen and Emily, cause I told them last summer I would do this for them, but it looks like Helen will still be in London, so maybe one ticket is still up for grabs. $30, y'all. Third row center. Let me know. But Emilys Vancho and Gercke are now first in line for them, so I need to hear from these girls.
In other news, Randy Johnson hit a home run a few nights ago. Did anyone else catch that? Rock on. His first in his 15-year career in the bigs. Go Big Unit.
