jianantonicThere is nothing more satisfying to me than converting people to the music I love. Seriously, I'd rather make fans of folk than make millions any day. As of right now, I have six definites and two maybes for the Feb. 12th shows - and of those eight people, five would be seeing one or both of the bands for the first time. I'm so excited! I'm also excited that such a great - and varied - group of people will be going. That reminds me, I'll need to invite my brother. He would like them. Done. Okay. So basically, here's the plan for that day, in case you need to know, or if you are one of the maybes, or if I haven't said anything to you about it yet but you're interested...
The date is Feb 12. That's a Sunday.
I want to leave my house for Charlottesville in the early afternoon. Like, noon or 1. If you are coming from the Valley area, let's carpool! Jer and I are going, Dave says he's in but it depends on his work schedule, and I think Ben and Kristen are going to come...but they are maybes. Since most of us don't know how to get to the venues, and we should all arrive together so we can get seats, I thought we could meet at my parents' house and have lunch around 2. Then after lunch, we can head downtown to the Prism Cafe to procure good seats. Crooked Still goes on at 4. We'll probably get out of there by 6, since they have a second show at 7. We can hop across the corner to the other side of downtown Charlottesville, get dinner on the downtown mall, and move on to the Gravity Lounge. The sound guy is a good friend of mine, so I'll make sure we have reserved seats there. I'll introduce people to the band, because I know John Linn wants to drool over them for a while. Their set is at 8, and we'll probably get out around 11 from there. Then it's back over the mountain and to bed with me, because I have to be at work at 8 on Monday - but it will be a fabulous night and I hope everyone else enjoys it half as much as I know I will.

Oh, one more thing - if you're a falcon ridge maybe, these two bands will give you a great idea of what kinds of things you'll hear at the fest (though the fest truly has more variety than any two bands could span). Please come! The tickets are like $10 and $15. SOOOO worth it. Worth ten times that, if you ask me.
