Jan. 30th, 2006 10:58 pmI should have already gone to bed tonight, but...just a quick update.
I was coughing really horribly at work today, so my boss told me to make a doc's appointment and she'd let me go. I saw a different doctor this time (actually a male nurse practitioner), because the doctor I saw last week was a dumb biotch. Well, she was nice, but she only saw me for like two seconds and didn't listen when I told her I KNOW THIS ISN'T AN ALLERGY ISSUE. Fucker. Anyway, this NP had a student studying with him, which was a godsend because he was extra thorough on her behalf. He listened to me and talked to me for 30 minutes. Yay:) He said my vitals are perfect, everything looks and sounds good, there's no obvious reason why I can't shake this cough. His best guess is that it's asthsma. I have that, so, yeah, that makes sense, sorta...except I'm not having breathing problems. But an infection would likely come with other symptoms, so I don't have antibiotics (which is good because I am wary of them). He put me on an inhaler and singulair, and told me to call in a week if I'm not better and he'd reevaluate me over the phone - since he's already looked at me and determined there's nothing to see, he says I shouldn't have to pay to come in again because he doesn't need to see me. He's afraid, though, that if the inhaler doesn't help, I'll need to see a lung specialist. Eep? I hope the inhaler works...but I'm supposed to use it every 4 hours. Jeebus.
Anyway, after work, I met Meredith and her three girls to go to the water park. The humid air helped the cough, so I think we'll get a humidifier for our house - anyway, we had a blast. I'm already getting sore from all the running around, and I have a killer bruise on my leg from the edge of a slide that I misjudged on entry. Oh well.
I need to go to sleep. I am tired now.
Peace.
