Feb. 3rd, 2006 10:28 pmI'm tired, but restless. I'm stressed. In the best possible way, but stressed nonetheless.
As of right now, it looks like I'm moving and Jer's staying here...for now. Probably until we find a place of our own in Charlottesville. My mom is being anything but agreeable about us moving in at her house...I didn't figure she'd go for it, but she doesn't have to be such a meanie about it...it sounds like we can probably have the apartment if we want it, but that won't be until July, and I don't want to live without my husband for that long. So what we're probably going to do is work extra hard to ready our house for listing, and we're going to sell it. And buy a place in or around Charlottesville. Jeebus.
The real estate market in Central Virginia is a bitch. A) It's expensive. B) I can't find a good website to browse listings. All the real estate agency places I can find only list their own listings. In Harrisonburg, CBFunkhouser's website will show you ALL houses for sale, no matter who's listing them. If anyone knows of such a thing for the Charlottesville area, I'd be greatly appreciative. But google isn't helping.
Moving is a bitch. But it will be worth it. But it wears me out just to think about it...
Anyway...I'm going to bed. I'll be in Charlottesville tomorrow. If anyone wants to hang out, just lemme know.
Peace.

Date: 2006-02-04 12:51 pm (UTC)But since I'm not really separate, I sympathize.
Are you planning to pay them some sort of token rent, either now or when (if) you move into the MIL suite? It might go a long way towards reconciliation, even if it's not really what the suite is worth. Symbolic value and all that.
If it weren't so counter-intuitive, I would say do like Leanne wants to do and buy a house in Waynesboro. Then again, your job isn't in Ivy.
Have you considered something like Fluvanna? Property values would be a lot cheaper, and if you were near the interestate it would be *very* easy to get to work (although everybody else would think so too, so there's traffic).

I don't remember these websites in full detail or anything. But I thought they might be worth your while to glance at them. :o)
