Feb. 5th, 2006 04:45 pmI was supposed to leave Charlottesville early this morning, but things did not go according to plan. I didn't sleep well at all last night, waking up every few minutes or so with a searing pain in my tummy. I'm not sick to my stomach - I think it's just nerves. Like, being over here and thinking about moving and uprooting and all that has just made me crazy nervous. But I am looking forward to it - I just can't get over my tummy ache:(
So I've been trying to sleep it off all day, with the result that I'll sleep for maybe an hour at a time, wake up in pain, and fall asleep again in this weird cycle. I'm afraid to come home just yet because I don't want to commit myself to an hour of sitting up like I'll have to do in the car. Sigh.
My realtor friend has already started doing research for us for the sale of our house. Based on the things she's emailed me today, it doesn't look like we should expect to make the enormous profit I was hoping for - but that we can probably make at least $80K on it, which I suppose is a pretty good profit after all. We paid $153K, and similar houses in our area are going now anywhere from 239-299, but with the higher priced ones staying on the market a long time before selling. However, summer is coming up and the rates are low, so she thinks there will be another boom this summer and we'll probably be able to unload it then. I was hoping to list it as close to $300K as we can, but I don't know if that's reasonable now. I think the most we can count on for sure is $230, but it's probably reasonable to hope as high as $280. We'll wait and see what she says about it.
DAMMIT my tummy hurts. I'm going to go.
Peace.

Date: 2006-02-05 03:50 pm (UTC)I actually feel better now - I made it home, into the shower, and downed a few bottles of water.
