Feb. 16th, 2006 09:22 amGood thing: CD player on my work computer, working speakers
Bad thing: sleep deficit
Good thing: living in Charlottesville
Bad thing: constant nagfests with my family, husband in different town
Good thing: having fun with old friends
Bad thing: double booking myself
Good thing: finding the house I want
Bad thing: relying on things falling into place just so, stressing about it
Good thing: having a working cell phone
Bad thing: having only one between two people in different cities, forgetting to charge it
Sorry - yesterday, I was supposed to eat at the Guad with Shanon, Nancy, & co. But yesterday was the only day I could meet with the realtor, and I need to seal this deal ASAP. So I knew I wasn't going to make it to the Guad. And I knew I needed to call. And I opened the phone to dial. And it was dead. So I kind of stood those guys up, and then my mom and dad decided to yell at me most of the evening, and I had PMS, and it's a miracle my head hasn't exploded yet. But I'm sorry I was such a douche about it. I love you guys, and I didn't forget about you. I just couldn't get word to you:(
Conflicts with my folks continue...I think things will be okay, but it's tense now, and I'm in one of those "I would rather just sit here and scream for a few minutes than deal with you right now" moods. And as soon as they got home, they turned up the heat in the house. It was in the sixties outside yesterday, no heat necessary if you ask me, but when I went to bed, they had it jacked up to 85! Even on a major sleep deficit, it's hard to sleep in heat like that. I thought about turning on the AC, but my dad would've flipped about that, so instead I opened a window in my room. And it just occurred to me that I forgot to close it, and if my dad sees it open, he'll flip out anyway about the waste of energy. I can't win....
Tonight is bridge night with my mom, which will be interesting considering I'm totally dead tired and still pissed off at her...at least there'll be time for a quick nap when I get home from work today.
One thing I won't complain about today is the weather. It's beautiful! I walked the long way to work today so I could bask in it as long as possible. Coming down the sidewalk, there was a construction crew of young men working outside the Omni hotel. I smiled and waved, and they smiled and waved back. One called out just as I was passing, "Hey! Didn't you go to Albemarle?" I said yes, class of '01, and he said he was class of 2000, but I can't say I recognized him. It was a big high school. But it's cool that he recognized me, since it's been probably six years since he's seen me. :)
I'm off to read about options trading....
Peace.

Date: 2006-02-16 06:38 am (UTC)Although I guess as you get older, your circulation gets poorer and it gets harder to keep warm...but still. Wow.
My money is still on "storage unit" being better than "garage," given their attitude towards you. But time shall tell.
