Blue sky at the summit of Crabtree Falls. Kevin had a thing about not letting a person just stand there and smile for a picture - we had to be doing something interesting. So this is me, passing for interesting.

Doing something else interesting - pretending to swan dive off the top of the falls. You can't see it in the picture but there's a big cascade just below me.

One of the few shots where we actually stood there and smiled. It's Danny, Kevin, me, Ben, at the top of the falls looking out over the valley. It was such a beautiful day. Everybody needs to check out Danny's shirt - this is my favorite shirt. If you can't read it, it's a picture of a loaf of bread and it says "Challah Back." What a hoot:)

Well, I hope that worked. I tried once before to post these and it didn't work so I had to delete the entry. I didn't do an LJ-cut because I think that was part of the problem before. Sorry if I wore out your scrolling fingers.

Peace.

Thanks:)

You should come hiking with us next time. We're going again in April, I do believe.

Looks like fun!!

Where is Crabtree Falls? I've heard of it, but I don't know where it is, and I'm always looking for good hikes, particularly if they have waterfalls...

Crabtree Falls is about an hour south of Charlottesville, in Nelson County. Take 29S to 56W, and you'll be there in no time. It's only a 5 mile hike to the top and back. Getting there, you'll drive right past my farm:)

Actually, in that first picture, I'm standing at the bottom of the falls, but I'm so darn tall, they had to take it from the top, 2.5 miles up the mountain... ;)

I have to say I do enjoy being this height...but it was a bitch to find dance partners at the all-important middle school dances. I haven't grown an inch since I was 13.

He's my height, but he's got a petite-for-a-guy build, so he doesn't seem that tall. I dunno. We both hover around six feet. He's not in any of those photos though because he was a loser and didn't come.

Thanks:)

Is it long enough to pass for long yet? (my hair)

Every few months, I think, if only my hair were a few inches longer, it'd be really long. And then it grows and I still don't think of it as long. I want good hippie hair!

Yes, I'd call it long. Mine's shorter anyway! :)

I think it's pretty! It looks really thick. Is it hard to control?

I wish I could see a pic from when you had the dreads. They're not still in, are they? It doesn't look like it from this pic, anyway.

No, the braids only lasted three weeks. If I felt good about any of the pictures taken with them in, I'd have posted them by now...

Yes, my hair is thick (thicker than anyone's I've ever known), and unmanageable as all hell, so I stopped trying to manage it a long time ago. Short haircuts and updos never work on me, because my hair has a mind of its own - but letting it grow long was the perfect remedy.

I think I have the opposite problem of anoerexic girls who look in the mirror and see fat, fat, fat. When I look in the mirror, I tend to be pretty happy (from the neck up, anyway), but whenever I take pictures, I hate them! The ones I've posted are out of a batch of about 100. Sigh. To the gym...
