She's the bigger of the two babies in this shot. She looks just like her auntie did when I was her age:) I love her so much! She turns two on the 20th of this month, and I'll see her on the 31st! I'm so excited!

When I went to McGaheysville this weekend, I took my parents' truck to help move. No comment on how that's going, but it really made me appreciate my car and its CD player. And my taste in music. The tape deck doesn't work in the truck, and there's no CD player, so I was stuck with the radio. I set it on scan and soon realized that I was never going to find a station I liked, so I would stop it occassionally when I recognized a song. Isn't it funny how you will get all excited to just hear a song you know, even if it's not a song you really like, when you're stuck hearing a bunch of music you don't know or like? I've found this is the case in places like bowling alleys and theme restaurants - you get so sick of hearing pure crap that all sounds the same, you get so excited when the familiar crap starts playing. I know I'm not the only one. I've witnessed others doing the "I love this song! Wait, no, I just can sing along" dance before.

So, how 'bout dem D-backs, eh? Spring training is going well for my boys. I know the real season will be a whole other story, but I have high hopes this season. The press and baseball critics in general don't seem to be on my side here, but I'm a faithful optimist. I'm loving what I'm hearing about the new center fielder, Byrnes - though NO ONE will ever fill Steve Finley's shoes. Some of my favorites are still with the team - Webb, Counce, Gonzo -- and Batista just came back in an off-season trade with the Blue Jays. Robby Hammock might see some more time at catcher this season, too. I love him. There are a lot of new guys, too, but I'm learning to love them. I just hope the pitching can keep up...that's always a question mark for Arizona. The offense looks a ton better this year, though, so maybe that'll make up for some of the pitching inconsistencies. This is the best time of year - March Madness, followed by opening day for baseball. I love being a sports fan in the spring! And the summer and fall, too. Winter's okay.

Peace.
