Mar. 29th, 2006 09:04 pmThe sooner I'm filthy rich and living off residual income, the better. Not that I don't like working, because I do, but I am really anxious for the day that I can hit the road in my own personal tour bus (which will run on biodiesel fuel, if we don't have good solar cars by that time) and just start jumping from folk venue to venue, spend the summers living at festivals, etc. All my favorites are booking their summer fests and lawn concerts and whatnot, and I just can't wait to go see them all.
I was listening to the Urban Blight Players' CD today, which includes a song written and performed by Bill from Camp Edhead (though he's a Fruhead, really) called "Shantytowner" which is about coming to Falcon Ridge and making friends with fellow folkies and just loving the life of a tent-dweller for six days. It's a fun, light-hearted song, but I was all welling up on my walk to work, just thinking about it. It's not that I'm that nuts, it's that Falcon Ridge is that wonderful. I don't deny that I'm nuts, though.
I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow. Just a little bit, but still...it's been almost four years since I had anything done to it, besides the braids, which were not a permanent change. I'm nervous/excited about it:) I also decided that I am finally going to get my first tattoo. I've also decided on the second one, but I'm starting with just one for now. Meredith said she'd go with me as she is ready for some new ink as well. I probably won't be able to get it until the end of April, but it's coming:)
So...things I'm excited about within the next month:
Concert Friday, and all the people that are coming for it
Lucy!!!!
Lucy's 2nd birthday party, and all the people that are coming for that
Gatlinburg, and all the people I'll see there that I haven't seen in a long time...
Getting a tattoo
My birthday
Putting our house on the market, finally
Jeremy moving to Charlottesville
Me moving out of my parents' crib
The Mammals concert
Oh...and a hike! Camping just isn't gonna happen this month...too much other crap going on in my life (sorry, Danny, I PROMISE we'll go soon), but we are gonna do another hike. If I get my husband's approval, the hike will be April 8th. If husbandy says he needs me at home to finish moving shit, then we'll move it to the last weekend in April. We don't have a spot yet, but this one is going to be a little longer than the Crabtree hike, probably. A little more challenging...who's in?
Peace.

Date: 2006-03-29 07:09 pm (UTC)I don't want to be a Big Fat Road Manager because that ties you too much to one band...I'm shooting for Normal Sized Friend of the Band. :)
I need to get more AW CD's. I only have their live one which is like 15 years old.
