Long but good day
Sep. 30th, 2003 11:18 pmToday was mostly fun. I can't believe I'm not asleep yet, seeing as how it's sooo after 9:30, my typical bedtime these days. My 8am class was cancelled today, so I got to sleep in, only I didn't - instead Jer took me out to breakfast:) (Thanks again, Jer, it was yummy!) In guitar class, I asked to learn Girlyman's "Fall Stories," which worked out nicely. As it happens, since I got the neck adjusted on my guitar and it's not fretting so hard now, I'm actually a decent player. I was able to catch on to the strumming and chord switches really easily, and for the first time, I could sing and strum at the same time. My hand-mouth coordination is getting much better:)
Work was not the best...Mike and Jay were fighting, and Cheri and Randy were fighting...it was a tense atmosphere. Somehow, though, I was able to convince Cheri to let me design a sign to use at the Massanutten shows and get the sign store people to make it for us, so that's good:)
I went to the Funk for a cardio workout tonight - first time in a long time I've gotten my fat ass over there. It felt really good, so hopefully I'll keep going now that I'm getting stronger with my weightlifting class and whatnot.
At 9:30, I met with a freshman to tutor her for Spanish. She was really sweet, so I'm looking forward to working with her this year. Since I meet her in the evenings, I can just go to the gym after work and see her after that - it can be like I'm getting paid to go to the gym:)
Lastly, I've had my car back for three weeks now, I believe, and I just put gas in it for the first time tonight, when I noticed she was down to 1/4 tankish. That's awesome. That means it's gotten close to 50mpg this month. Too bad the brakes still don't work.
Well, it's REALLY past my bedtime now, so I'm off.
Peace.
OH WAIT, how cool would it be if the Red Sox and the Cubs met in the world series this year? Baseball fans, you understand.
